Endless runner game for the Playdate

Escape From Complex 32 is a free action game created by indie developer SquidGod. It is an endless runner title for the Playdate retro portable game console. In it, players take control of a sentient robot trying to escape the mysterious scientific facility where it was created in.

Joining other games like Jumper - Playdate and OneBit Invaders (Playdate), Escape From Complex 32 is one of the many titles being developed and released for the Playdate. It takes advantage of the retro gaming handheld's crank mechanism to full effect and changes the way it's played.

Laser-boosted

Escape From Complex 32 is basically a sci-fi-themed endless runner that you can try out on your Playdate retro gaming handheld. The game takes place in the titular Complex 32, a mysterious science facility that is responsible for researching and creating robots. You play as one of these robots that have developed sentience and self-awareness, and you are now on the run and trying to escape.

You will be traversing long vertical spaces while trying to avoid obstacles in your way. Your equipped laser will boost you upwards and help you go higher. The game controls are easy to learn. Wind the crank to aim where you want, and press the Up, A, or B buttons to fire. It's a free-fall experience, so don't lose air by continuously thrusting your way up.

Take note of the cooldown bar for your laser at the top-right corner of the screen. Think about your shots and aim carefully to not waste them or get hit. The gameplay is fun and engaging, but it can get repetitive after a while. Additional game modes or customization options would have helped the game's long-term appeal and replayability. Nonetheless, it's great for quick play sessions.

Free-falling

Overall, Escape From Complex 32 is another great addition to the ever-growing list of fun games you can try out for your Playdate. The controls are simple and the gameplay offers a fun and engaging experience. The inclusion of additional game modes and features would have been great, but for what it is, you'll be having a nice time playing it on quick game sessions.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
